Media

Only media we upload is on the site.

Cookies

Only minimal and for website statistics: If you leave a comment, request or feedback through a form on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. This is done by the server and you can delete such cookies on your browser on your device. It is not our responsibility to tell you how to delete it. It is your responsibility as user of any browser or device to know such things – especially if this is something you want to worry about. But our cookies are only for your own convenience. We do NOT check them. We may check our website statistice, to see where our visitors are from in the world and for how long they visit and which pages, but that is basically it. This is a tiny website of very little significance. If it was a webshop, the owners may find cookies a lot more interesting than we do, as we frankly do not care. This is much more a formal page than anything else.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Third party content: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

Basically none, but: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

As short as possible: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Again: we only use the cookies for your own convenience and for occasional check-up on how our web site traffic performs.

What rights you have over your data

Legally and practically: If you have left feedback, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. But we do not collect sensitive data on our website. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Practically it is impossible to have a website today with out website statistics which are measured by website-cookies. If that is a major problem to you please log off the internet, as this is a much larger problem on website like Google, Facebook, Tiktok and other large social media websites.

Where your data is sent

Nowhere: Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Nothing unusual in that. You should rather be afraid of where your data is going when you use platforms like Google, Facebook, Tiktok and other large online platforms. They listen and may also view you through your device’s microphone and camera – as well as what you type, when you interact with them.

Most governments demand that the Internet Service Providers store data of their subscribers for months. That is a much larger problem than a few cookies or your feedback to us on a single form. So if these things bother you, please do join Anonymous or some other civic rights movement and demand less government control of user data collected by ISP companies.
